Orach - dark green

Orach - dark green

CA$3.00

Self-seeding annual, naturalized in North America.

We called it “stem Spinach” and strip enough leaves off the plants to fill up those transparent plastic boxes that baby Spinach is sold in. Sunday Harrison, founder of Green Thumbs Growing Kids, first introduced us to this nutritious local plant that would be dismissed as a weed by some. Great for school gardens and for a no-maintenance vegetable you can harvest all season long. Seed head is very ornamental.
