Timeline: 2025: design and install | 2026: garden maintenance

Goal: Revitalize a neglected space at Sunnybrook originally planted with Indigenous medicines in 2017. The goal of the revitalization is to recreate and maintain the garden as a space for ceremony, teaching, learning and engagement.

Miinikaan's role: Garden design and installation. Maintenance scheduled for the coming season (2026).

Collaborators: Seventh Generation Midwives Toronto and the Regional Indigenous Cancer Program Team were a part of the consultation and design process. Sunnybrook staff helped with the garden build and transplanting.

Our speciality is Indigenous garden consultation, design and installation. In creating our gardens, we are revitalizing traditional AgroEcology and Indigenous ceremony. We’re experts in growing food, container gardens and rooftop gardens, and we love transforming public spaces.
